Water for the oasis

The oasis is the reason Palmyra stands where it stands. Palmyras Venner supports the cultivation of a plot again.

Date palms and olive trees will be planted here, and vegetables grown in season. The water is collected in a reservoir and distributed by drip irrigation, so that it is not wasted. The pump runs on solar power. The water is kept in the reservoir, so the installation does not need to store electricity, and the running does not depend on fuel or an unstable power supply.

The plot is small on purpose. The first year is to show what survives, and how much water is actually used. The same can then be done somewhere else in the oasis.
